PhD, graduated from University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Health Science. Thesis: Cotrimoxazole and Fansidar in the treatment of acute uncomplicated falciparum malaria: Efficacy, safety and molecular characterisation of resistance. 1996 Diploma in Tropical Medicine and International Health, University of Copenhagen, MS (Medical Biochemistry.) graduated from Faculty of medicine, University of Khartoum, Sudan.

05-08 2006- Researcher at Rigshospitalet, Finsencentret / Epidemiklinikken, afsnit 7641. Writing
of the proposed project “Repatriation and Resistance: Risks for Returning Internal
Displaced People to South Sudan, using Malaria as an Indicator” submitted to
RUF/DANIDA 19th of June 2006. Preparation of clinical interaction protocol
(Concerning artemisinin combination therapy and anti retroviral treatments) and
development of immunoassays for the analysing disethyl amodiaquine, mefloquine
and
lumefantrine in biological fluids.

Adjunct at Centre of Medical Parasitology (CMP) and Institute of International Health/CISU (University of Copenhagen). Development of monoclonal antibody-based immunoassays for the analysis of the antimalarial drugs chloroquine and amodiaquine (project no. 91197 funded by RUF and Department of international Health, University of Copenhagen). 2002-2003 Research adjuncts at CMP. Brief description of Research area in question:
Researcher and collaborator in a number of studies on molecular aspects of antimalarial drug
resistance and analysis of antimalarial drugs and epidemiology. Supervisor to Sudanese The research as well involved collaboration with research institutions in Tanzania , Burkina Faso and Sudan. Being the principal investigator in 2 projects of developing antibodies to five antimalarial drugs, the applicant has the knowledge, the laboratory experince and talent to do the proposed project. The applicant will be working under supervision of Dr Claus koch, who is a pioneer in the field of developing monoclonal antidodies and immuno-assays to different antigens. Researcher in the Regional Project (RAF/6/017) of the International Atomic Energy
Agency (IAEA) for "The Use of Isotopes in Detection of Drug Resistant Malaria
& Tuberculosis"
