28 young scientists from the Québec delegation
Montréal, Thursday, May 16, 2013 – Young Quebecers were rewarded for their excellence this afternoon in Lethbridge, Alberta, at the awards ceremony capping the 52nd Canada-Wide Science Fair, the competition that each year welcomes more than 500 budding scientists and their projects from across the country. Of the 40 members of Québec delegation sponsored by Merck Canada Inc., 28 earned distinctions in the form of medals, scholarships and special awards. Dr. Mauricio Ede, Medical Director, Merck Canada Inc., offered congratulations to the 28 winners from Québec, citing their virtually boundless ingenuity and creativity, and urging them to persevere in their scientific careers. “Innovation is at the heart of everything Merck does, and we feel that our dedication to investing in the next generation of scientists and researchers is a perfect fit with that vision,” he said. “This Science Fair provides students with invaluable hands-on experience in scientific research and a glimpse of just how rewarding a career in this exciting field can be.” Winners The names of members of the Québec delegation who were honoured at the Canada-Wide Science Fair are listed below, by region.
