is forever stretched out to lift up the lazy and the careless, those who have fallen on the way and have been
left sitting at the side of the road. All we have to do is grasp the hand of divine friendship extended to us in
Jesus, and then we will be on our way again.

FINANCE NEWS Thank you for your Offering last Sunday of £970 and £60 for the 2010 Appeal which
has now reached £1283. The Appeal is going well and will make a great difference to the three causes it
will be donated to. Please keep donating your 10p and 20p pieces. Thank you from Edz and the Scouts
CHILD ABUSE Following the request from the Catholic Bishops of England and Wales, the four Fridays
of May have been designated special days of Prayer and Reparation with one hour of Exposition of the
Blessed Sacrament on each Friday at Our Lady’s from 7pm to 8pm.
DAY FOR MARY Celebrate Our Lady’s month next Saturday 15th at Our Lady’s starting with Mass at
10.30am and finishing by 2.30pm. Buffet lunch provided. Confessions heard as usual
PRAYER IN OUR PARISH THIS WEEK at the normal times
1. Jesus Prayer Group meets on Monday from 7.30pm to 9pm in the Presbytery.
2. St Edmunds Prayer Group meets on Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm in the Lourdes Room.
3. Contemplative Prayer Group meets on Tuesday from 7.30pm to 8.30pm in the Presbytery.
4. Holy Face Rosary is prayed on Tuesday at 12.15pm at St Edmunds before Mass.

LEGION OF MARY will speak at all Masses next weekend with a view to setting up a branch here.

PENTECOST IN THE PARK A day filled with prayer, worship, music and activities for children at the
Bandstand, Abington Park, Northampton on Sunday 23rd from 12.30pm to 6pm. Entry free and everyone
welcome to bring a picnic or enjoy refreshments from the Park Café. At 2.45pm, there will be a worldwide
link-up for the Global Day of Prayer. If you would like to be part of the Global Day of Prayer from 1st to
23rd May, please put your name on the list in each church or contact Fran Moss.

PRAYER SPONSORS Mass will be celebrated at St Edmunds at 7pm on Tuesday 25th. Followed by a
get together in the Infant School Hall with the opportunity for our First Holy Communion candidates and
their Prayer Sponsors to meet one another, Named letters are at the back of the church today.
ATTENTION ALL PARISH EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS Diocesan Symposium on “Celebrating the
Presence of Jesus” at the RE Centre, 40 Lloyds, Milton Keynes MK6 5EB on Saturday 5th June. Begins
with Mass at 9.30am and concludes with Holy Hour and Benediction at 2.15. Bring packed lunch. No
charge. Names please to Father Ed as soon as possible. I hope many of you will be able to go.

CATHOLIC MIRACLE RALLY will be held at the Friends Meeting House, Euston Road, London on
Saturday 5th June from 9.30am to 9.30pm with Miracle Healing Service at 6pm, and Sunday 6th June
from 9.30am to 5pm with Eucharistic Healing Service at 9.30am
CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION at the Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Great
Billing, on Sunday 6th June at 3pm. First Communion children will lead the Blessed Sacrament through the
village. Be at the Hall opposite the Church at 2.45pm. Why not bring picnic food for afterwards?

SION COMMUNITY WEEKEND PARISH RETREAT from 6pm on Friday 11th June to Sunday
13th June as part of the follow-up to our Parish Mission in October 2008. This weekend is an opportunity
to spend time away with the Lord in prayer and peace. Cost £90 residential. Limited places so please book

DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO WALSINGHAM on Saturday 12th June. Assemble in the Friday
Market at 1.30pm for the Procession along the old railway line for a Service in the Chapel of
Reconciliation and Holy Mass at 4pm.

PARISH SUMMER COACH TRIP to the Cotswolds on Thursday 17th June . Departs St Edmunds at
07.45am and returns about 19.30pm. Visiting Bourton-on-the-Water, a trip on the Gloucestershire Steam
Railway and Prinknash Abbey. Booking Forms available from Cecilia Budd. Cost £10. Deposit required.

COFFEE MORNING to support our Sick Pilgrims going to Lourdes at 42 Doddington Road from 10am
to 2pm on Saturday 19th June. Raffle tickets on sale after Mass.
PASTORAL AREA HEALING SERVICE at St Gregorys Church, Abington, Northampton on
Wednesday 23rd June at 7pm.
