Delancey Flyers Racing League and The Go Ride Cycle Training Scheme are open to children between the ages of 6 and 11. By completing the application form your child will be enrolled for Delancey Flyers Racing League, the Go Ride Scheme or both depending on your request.
Information for Parents The Guernsey Velo Club has an Under 12 Delancey Flyers Racing League for children aged between 6 and 11 (essentially for school years 1 to 6). The GVC has a purposely laid tarmac track at Delancey for cycle racing and have the full support of Culture and Leisure to use the majority of Delancey Park for the Under 12 racing league. The race programme will include all forms of cycle racing including time trials, hill climbs, cross country racing and various forms of circuit racing; in all cases the courses will be designed with younger riders in mind and in every case your child's safety will be uppermost. Go Ride is run by trained and accredited Activity Leaders for British Cycling. Your child will receive carefully structured activities including basic cycling skills, fun races and cycling games – all in a safe off-road environment. We also hope that they will ride away with more confidence in their own cycling ability and may wish to try their hand at cycle racing events held at Delancey during the year. This is a fantastic opportunity for your child to get involved in one of the finest and most exciting sports in Guernsey; we are looking for future champions and anybody wishing to improve their fitness and cycling skills. There will be prizes to be won for those competing throughout the Delancey Flyers series. We look forward to seeing both you and your child at Delancey Park.
